Fire resistant regulation
The law stipulates as follows.
[Article 114, Paragraph 1 of the Order for Enforcement of the Building Standards Law] The separation wall of each door of a nagaya or an apartment house shall be of semi-fire-resistant construction and shall reach the attic or the ceiling.
Semi-fire-resistant construction is basically a type that can withstand flames for more than 45 minutes.
Also, a semi-fire-resistant floor is required between the first and second floors.
